I've been steadily revising Revenge of the Soccer Moms, moving the miscarriage, mopping up all the collateral damage that has caused, taking out most of the English cuss words and replacing them with Italian (you'll see why when you read it), and I'm feeling quite good about it. I've added new conflicts and inter-relationships and even taken out some brilliant stuff that just wasn't working. Very painful.
I was worried about how long it's taken me (the agent and I talked in April, and here it's December), but just a day or two ago the agent sent me an e-mail, asking how my writing was going! Forgive the shouting, but THE AGENT SENT ME AN E-MAIL!
Ok, I'm calm now. Sometimes a boost comes when you need it most. I'm going to finish this rewrite before the end of December and send it off to her. I'm sure there will be things she's not wild about, but if it's close, I think she and I can make a deal to work together. At least I hope so. Her insights and those of the other agents in her office were invaluable to me, and she's exactly the kind of agent I need.
AND SHE SENT ME AN E-MAIL, SO SHE MUST THINK I HAVE POTENTIAL!
Sorry. Didn't mean to scream again.
